    You must access: ifs/settings/acoustic.
But, since your OS is MAC, you should read:

I downloaded and installed VMWare Fusion for this job, so I am doing this on the mac, but in Windows XP, so easier in the long run, I hope :-)

Thanks for the link to the tutorial, it is one of the first ones (of many) that I read.

I have done a full back-up of the phone with an application I found on the net, and a GDFS backup with XS++, so I have some confidence to proceed because I think I can recover from disaster :-)

I think I understand what to do.....I find the "ifs/settings/acoustic" file in my phone with XS++, then look in the file I was tsuggested to download, "Extreme Power V1", and find the file of the same name, and replace the one in my phone with it?

Is there any point in upgrading the firmware as a whole, to a later version? I have read that R1CA021 has better audio, and that CID52 is better than my CID36 for further upgrading, but really, other than very poor ring volume and message alert volume, I have no real complaints about the phone. Oh, maybe one, the time delay to auto lock the keypad could be a bit longer :-)

    Thanks. Phill.

Search around for "K750 / W800 Firmware Overview". It seems latest firmware has acoustic improvement. So, you can flash to R1DB001_CID36, using XS++ 3.1 and the above tutorial. K750 has only CID36 and CID49:

    Re: K750i Ring volume issue

Hmmm, I have a problem. The tutorial says to remove the SIM before connecting to XS++ for flashing. My phone WILL NOT connect to XS++ unless the SIM is inserted.

Has anyone come across this before, and what was the solution please?

Even it.s recommended, I never removed SIM, or memory card and nothing happened. What USB flash driver did you use ? I'm not familliar with MAC OS, does your PC recognize the phone as a device ? Don't you have a friend with Windows OS ?

    Re: K750i Ring volume issue

I am using Windows XP (on VMWARE on the mac) so no issues there.

I got around the problem of removing the SIM by finding an old one and replacing with it.

I have flashed all the "ifs/settings/acoustic" files with the recommended files ( Extreme Power V1) and it achieved nothing. The ring volume was no better at all.

A friend has the same phone as mine, but with R1N035 CID36 RED, so I downloaded that and flashed it with that, but now the phone comes up with the following message when I switch it on:- "Configuration Error. Please contact your Network Operator or Service Centre"

I can still connect to XS++ ok though.

The tutorial says that I need 3 files to successfully flash,
    1. Main firmware xxxx.MBN
    2. File System xxxxx.FBN
    3. Custom Pack xxxxx.RAR

All the Firmware files I can find on this site are File System xxxx.fbn
I have found a Main xxxx.mbn on another site, but it is Europe EU1 and my phone is EU2, is that going to be a problem?
""EDIT"" The Main Firmware file I found on the other site turns out to be xxxx.RAR, not xxxx.MBN, so now I am lost again. Is the tutorial wrong? Can a Main be .RAR??
    ""EDIT found a Eu2 MBN :-)

Will re flash and see what happens.

    Thanks again.

    I have re-flashed with:-
    K750_r1ca021_main_eu_2_cl_red36_mbn as the Main Firmware
    and
K750_r1ca021_main_eu_2_cl_red36_fbn as the File System Firmware

RESULT:- Binary Acknowledge Failed with: 89

and XS++ has locked with only one option: STOP which carries a warning that to do so may damage the phone.

Please, what can I do to retrieve this situation?

    Thanks.
