    K750i Ring volume issue

I have a K750i which suffers from a very low volume ring, on both installed ringtones, and MP3 ringtones that I have installed.

I have firmware R1L002 installed now.
Is there some other firmware that will address this issue?
Is there some other way to drastically increase the ring volume?

If I need to change the firmware to achieve this, which one do I choose, and how do I install it from a Apple Mac using OS X Snow Leopard?

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Thank you for the info. I have been googling for many hours, and only found a lot of stuff that is understandable only by people who already know a lot on the subject.

I have downloaded the file (looks like a complete firmware upgrade??) but I have no idea what XS++! even means, so I will try to find out. As I said, I have Apple Mac, so I cannot use SEUS, which means I have also no idea what to do with the file I just downloaded at your suggestion.
Trust me when I say that I do not join these forums and ask stupid questions without first Googling for many hours and trying to work it out on my own first, but this is basically a foreign language to a person who has never delved into it before.

    Thanks again.
    Phill.

I have downloaded and familiarised myself with XS++ v3.1

I have also read pages and pages on guides to using it.
What I have read is telling me that I MUST use upgrades that match my EROM CID (36 in my case) and EROM Colour (Red in my case)

There are also Three choices in XS++ to Flash Firmware, 1. Main Firmware, 2. File System, 3.Customise File System.

Does "" Extreme_Power_v1.0_DB2010-12 "" meet the requirements of CID36 and Colour RED?

Do I select all three Flash Firmware boxes, (as above) for flashing Extreme_Power_v1.0_DB2010-12?

    Thanks for any advice.

By the way, I googled "Extreme_Power_v1.0_DB2010-12" first to try to get some info and it comes up empty :-( so I am left with no choice but to ask for help again.

    You must use this tutorial:
http://www.topsony.com/forum/phone-x...html#post60438, step 5) Uploading files via FSX *optional*.
    You must access: ifs/settings/acoustic.
But, since your OS is MAC, you should read:

I downloaded and installed VMWare Fusion for this job, so I am doing this on the mac, but in Windows XP, so easier in the long run, I hope :-)

Thanks for the link to the tutorial, it is one of the first ones (of many) that I read.

I have done a full back-up of the phone with an application I found on the net, and a GDFS backup with XS++, so I have some confidence to proceed because I think I can recover from disaster :-)

I think I understand what to do.....I find the "ifs/settings/acoustic" file in my phone with XS++, then look in the file I was tsuggested to download, "Extreme Power V1", and find the file of the same name, and replace the one in my phone with it?

Is there any point in upgrading the firmware as a whole, to a later version? I have read that R1CA021 has better audio, and that CID52 is better than my CID36 for further upgrading, but really, other than very poor ring volume and message alert volume, I have no real complaints about the phone. Oh, maybe one, the time delay to auto lock the keypad could be a bit longer :-)

    Thanks. Phill.

Search around for "K750 / W800 Firmware Overview". It seems latest firmware has acoustic improvement. So, you can flash to R1DB001_CID36, using XS++ 3.1 and the above tutorial. K750 has only CID36 and CID49:

    Re: K750i Ring volume issue

Hmmm, I have a problem. The tutorial says to remove the SIM before connecting to XS++ for flashing. My phone WILL NOT connect to XS++ unless the SIM is inserted.

Has anyone come across this before, and what was the solution please?

Even it.s recommended, I never removed SIM, or memory card and nothing happened. What USB flash driver did you use ? I'm not familliar with MAC OS, does your PC recognize the phone as a device ? Don't you have a friend with Windows OS ?

    Reflash with:
    K750_R1DB001_MAIN_EU_2_CL_RED36
K750_R1DB001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED36 and use as a customization
    K750i_CDA102337_10_R5A_Generic_EUROPE_2

    Re: K750i Ring volume issue

That has got the phone back into working condition, however the ring volume is still almost inaudible, so I am basically convinced that this is a hardware problem, i.e. Poly Speaker is stuffed or it's driver chip is stuffed.
There is a possibility that there is a Sony Settings Reset file or some such that might deal with this well known problem, but i have been unable to find it, so time to quit the phone or have it repaired.

Thanks for all the help & suggestions. It has been a great learning experience.

    Cheers.
