w810 help needed

hi guys..i am new here in the forum and i see things here that are very useful and informative..but right now..i have a little problem.. (BIG)

my friend from the US sent me a phone w810 which i am trying to unlock now..ive seen lots of stuffs to do..but i dont have any idea on where to start..i have connected it to xs++ already..it was detected.. and now..my problem is..

a technician from here said the phone has to be reprogrammed..is it the same as flashing?? will flashing fix the phone?? i am only seeing white screen and the options *select and more*

i dont know which files ill need and where to get them.

any suggestions would be appreciated!
