I got a S500i recently. the phone was fine everything working perfectly. the slide was a bit of so i opened up to phone as i had done many times before. This time to clean out the slide and lubricate it. I tested the phone every step of the way putting in the battery and switching on the phone. It was all fine. I had just put on the final plastic piece onto the phone which is the pop of back piece that shielded the chips inside. There was no cable that could have gotten caught or snipped. But when i tried to turn on the phone, nothing happens normally it would vibrate then the SE logo would display on screen. But nothing happened. I went to connect the phone to my charger and it turned on. The screen came on and the wallpaper i had set was displayed when the slider was slid down. But the phone can't be used when in charge mode or even USB mode. The phone was working only on those modes. I waited to the next day to see if my alarm would have come on. It did. So now it's got me wondering if this could be a hardware issue. I opened up the "on" button on the phone to see if it wasn't functioning properly. but everything was fine. I even connected the "on" buttons terminals with foil, copper, a screw driver. and nothing happened. i re flashed the phone with the w580i's FS Custom pack and Main. still the same thing. I noticed though that the flex cable that connects the Motherboard to the camera speaker buttons memory card reader was a bit bent at one point. The bend was from the slide mechanism catching onto the cable. Do you think this could cause the phone not to start? What else could cause this? I really need to fix this phone. I have the S500i FS and Custom pack but my nets unstable right now and i can't download the Main without the download cutting. But "topsony" still registers as a full download so i have to wait till tomorrow to download the Main. Please help.
