Hello. I have a new Vodafone UK C510. I unlocked it using DaVinci, permanent unlock. I should have considered debranding and do it before unlocking, but it didn't cross my mind.
However, now I want to debrand it and I read the tutorials using A2uploader and customize_upgrade.xml. I have few questions because I haven't done it before.
1. Most important. Because the unlock was permanent, not a patch, will it stay unlocked after the debrand?
2. What would be the most straightforward procedure to backup the phone/firmware in case something goes wrong, and how to restore if necessary?
3. From the DaVinci log that I saved, my phone says:
Customization info:
1221-8226 R16A
1212-2420 R1FA035
VFE-LIVE-A
Using the A2uploader procedure should be fine, right?
4. I have created a Western Europe xml file using SE CDA File Maker and the content is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<customization>
<info>
<cda-number>1209-4774</cda-number>
<cda-revision>R6A</cda-revision>
<created-by>thaproxinator</created-by>
</info>
</customization>
Does that look right for my phone?
5. Anything else I have missed and I need to know? The procedure sounds simple enough. You upload the xml and then use SEUS which will install generic firmware. Of course, I know you lose your contacts, etc.
Thanks a lot in advance for any advice/help. I just want to make sure I get things right. :)
