    Re: k610i problem patch

    Hi
I am reading here and there, ex.
    http://www.topsony.com/forum/phone-x...ing-t6671.html

I understand that XS++ can do the same as SETool2 Lite, right?

But the main question is where do you take those Main Firmware and File System files to flash them to the telephone from?
And when you use a term patch, what exactly do you mean? Is there a list of patches for k610i with a description what they do? I 'only' want to remove a simlock.
And yet the third option, next to MAIN and FS, i.e. flashing customisations.
Who is writing them and what for? Is it that somebody creates something new, don't know what, a new menu? .... and then s/he wants to share it with other users and publishes this customisation as a patch?
It seems I am able to use these tools (managed to backup my GDFS and move EROM CID from 49 to 52 but I am stuck after that).
Thanks in advance for any clues

    Only Setool can do patching.
Your next step is debranding(flashing with "generic" firmware). You should choose a "generic" MAIN from download section/firmware/K610, according to your CID(K610_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_TH_RED52 for example), then a same version FS, according the language you use:
Top Sony - Languages Description (for example, if you're german, you should choose K610_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52. Finally, you should choose a custom file according to the FS from downloads/custom files/K610(HB1-06_Generic_CDA102568_11_R4A_GENERIC_EUROPE_2).
Your second step is unlocking. Read sectionB. How to apply the generated patches to DB2020 CID52 phones of this tutorial:
    http://www.topsony.com/forum/unlocki...html#post57483.
    You can't personalize(patch) a DB2020 phone, then save firmware(like for Motorola phones).

Another perhaps stupid question then. Staying with German language as an example, would it be wrong to use:
    K610_R1GB001_MAIN_GENERIC_TH_RED52 and K610_R1GB001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52 instead of suggested R1KG001?
What are all these download categories within a particular CID?

R1GB001 is old (is buggy), R1KG001 is better and newer, haven't bugs.

And is there any logic, when looking at these categories, which one is newer?
All files seems to be showing 05-20-2008 in the browser.
    Thanks

Date in topsony haven't nothing with release of the software!
R1GB001 is from March, R1KG001 is at the end of May.

    Re: k610i problem patch

So one can assume that the 'higher' letter within the category, the more recent version?
Also, when staying with German language ... can one choose EUROPE_1 or EUROPE_2 or perhaps TMOB INT A?
They all seem supporting German. Or when you look at English, it is used everywhere.
Or would there be a problem if I wanted Russian and chose K610_R1KG001_FS_RUSSIA_RED52?
I am with UK 3, which BTW, in my opinion has nothing to do with K610_R1KG001_FS_HUTCH_1_RED52 as this one might be for Australia former 3, now Hutch. I thought first this might be my current FS.
But also I would like to have Polish, German and Dutch and TMOB INT A suits me the most from that perspective. Is there a problem using it even though I am pretty sure I am based on a different FS so far?
