Hi,

First-time poster, but been lurking here for a while - great site and has saved me a lot of time troubleshooting...

A bit of background info before I ask the question :)

I'm using a W705 on 3. Everything was going fine until they "upgraded" our local network at home. Before I could only access the GSM network for voice only calls - which was fine, that's all I needed at home. Since the upgrade, the handset can just about see the 3G network, but not strong enough to receive calls - they go straight to voicemail.

Manually selecting the GSM network only worked for 6minutes before the handset latched on to it's home network again - the 3G one. This also drained the battery very quickly, with the phone constantly searching for a new network.

Using the info on this site, I successfully de-branded the W705 putting on the latest default SonyEricsson menus. This opened up a new setting which wasn't there under the 3menus:
Settings - Connectivity - Mobile Networks - GSM/3G Networks
Here I can force the handset to only use the GSM network - perfect! Problem solved!

So that's the W705 sorted, now for my wife's W595. I tried the same trick with that handset, but I can't seem to find a similar setting. Does anyone know of a generic firmware which has this setting for the W595?

Cheers!
