@riders4sia : tried the firmware suggested by senter but the error still comes up. Here is a screenshot:
any ideas?

Did you choosed DB2020 as a "script" in order to flash ?

I did everything correctly, I have flashed a whole lot of other phones so I know what I am doing. I am also positive that the firmware is OK as I have used it on another phone and it worked no problem. I ended up sending the phone to SE under warranty but they said the fault was not covered by warranty. The funny thing was that to get my phone back they asked for sum ridiculous amount for postage, so I left it.
