USB connection problem

Hi there,
I wanted to put some games on my sons W580i which would mean coppying them in to the phone memory, root. But when i connect the phone via USB, it doesnt show up. If i have the memory card installed in the phone, then this shows up ok but not the phone memory.
I have tried installing the USB flash driver as per the guids/tutorials, and it said it had installed ok, and new hardware ready to be used, but still doesnt show up in my computer. Sometimes when it connects there is a new removable disc icon appearing, but it can not be accessed.
Any ideas?

Better try with the usb port in the motherboard...(ie)don't connect at the front USB ports of u r cpu..
