Angry W580i - LCD or Battery or Firmware?

I am having what can be described as this problem - i.e. LCD comes up on battery charge, but then disappears. The phone vibrates with the POWER button. I was hoping some one could help me figure out the firmware right for me. I can't reach my phone through *0000# so I don't know what is the firmware presently. I dismantled the phone with this vid and checked the LCD connector which seemed fine and unbroken. I have dropped the phone several times throughout its year long existence but never on water. I am not sure what is the problem and I would really appreciate if someone could guide me towards figuring that out. I did leave the battery out for more than a week or so to see if it would somehow discharge completely and would start afresh on the next recharge. However this was not helpful. I seriously doubt it could be a battery problem since it does display a charging screen.

    Please help.

Search for Setool2Lite 1.11, or XS++ 3.1. Install USB Flash driver: USB Flash Driver Installation - Guide - Top Sony Forums. Start Setool and press "Identify". Then show us the log, without IMEI.

    Sounds like firmware is corrupt.
Go for the mention of hyperion17

Unhappy Re: W580i - LCD or Battery or Firmware?

I could not locate Setool 1.11 without a virus so I have used XS 3.1 from here.

    Here are the details...

    11:00:54| TURN OFF PHONE!
11:00:54| Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW.
    11:00:54| You have 30 seconds...
    11:00:54|
    11:01:05| Baseband ID: 9900
    11:01:05| Protocol Version: 3.1
11:01:05| Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:NULL GDFS:W580)
    11:01:05| ...using GDFS name
    11:01:05|
    11:01:05| Profiling SEMC phone...
    11:01:05| Platform: DB2020
    11:01:05| OTP CID: 51
    11:01:05| EROM CID: 52
    11:01:05| EROM Color: Red
    11:01:05| IMEI: 35297302xxxxxx
    11:01:05| Phone ID: W580
    11:01:05| Region: S_ASIA_LEVAN
    11:01:05| CDA: CDA102774/165 R2A
    11:01:05| Firmware Version: R8BE001
    11:01:05| EROM: R3A022
    11:01:05| Ready for operation!

It appears the last part of IMEI is not appearing. The side panel shows some options for my phone (which I have attached). I don't want to lose the data on my phone so please let me know if that is possible.

Isn't virus, must uninstall your antivirus program and download Setool2lite 1.11 again.
    Download from here: Setool2lite1.11.rar

Question Re: W580i - LCD or Battery or Firmware?

I would prefer not to uninstall the antivirus, unless as a last resort. Is there a workaround with XS 3.1?
When trying to "Move ggsemc.sys in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers" I already had a file with the same name so I did not replace it. Could this be the problem that IMEI is not appearing?

The program (Setool2lite1.11) is NOT virus, just contains scripts that antivirus detects as viruses, but they are not.

    Download Setool2lite1.11.rar
When your antivirus show this click:

Then download: Setool2Lite_update_from 1.10_to_v1.11.rar and choose Setool folder.

You don't have to uninstall the antivirus; eventually to disable it .
If XS++ shows a log, there' s no problem with USB flash driver. As for the message "Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:NULL GDFS:W580)", it won't show up after a succesfull flash with XS++.

Question Before I start mobile flashing...

Ok, I understand and agree Setool is not a virus. I only wanted to use XS 3.1 because it seemed to be the other option. However, in case I need to use both the programs that is okay for me.

With regard to flashing, is there Any chance of data loss?
I am completely new to flashing and the only basic introduction here is just not very insightful. Any other guides available?
I noticed another discussion on W580 flashing and I was wondering if I should follow any of the procedures there?

Re: Before I start mobile flashing...

You need Setool only if you want to "patch" your phone.
    Use this firmware:
    W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
    W580_R8BE001_FS_S_ASIA_LEVAN_RED52 and the customization
    HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_110_R8A_GENERIC_S_ASIA_LEVAN
    by following this tutorial :
    XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering - Top Sony Forums
You can make 3.Flashing and 4.Customizing in the same run.
