C510 Problem after unlocking from 3 with Aerix, please help, thank you!

Hi there, this is my first post here, i'm new to the scene of phones and unlocking/flashing etc.

I recently bought a friend's old sony ericsson C510 to replace my old K810i, which is getting a bit tired and the camera no longer works!

The C510 was locked to the '3' network when i was given it so i used the Aerix unlocker to unlock it. This was successful and i put in my o2 sim afterwards. I now get no signal on the phone, and it just displays the 'emerg. calls only' message where it should say o2. I have made sure this isn't just becasue there is no signal by trying it in different places, all of which i normally get full signal.

It still gives the emergency calls only message. I have tried the phone with a '3' simcard and it gets full signal and works perfectly..

Do you have any ideas of why this might be happening?

Maybe '3' phone can't be unlocked? I hadn't heard that before..

Did you tried another SIM, except "3" and "O2" ?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have tried a vodafone sim card as well, which did not work either.

It appears that only a '3' simcard will get signal, despite the phone being unlocked...

Anone have any ideas?

there is a possibility that your friends has report the phone as being lost/stolen so your C510 could be blacklisted. so your mate can claim a new one though insurance..

if its a 3 mobile its set to use a 3G signal only maybe changing the firmware of the phone may solve this problem.
Flash the phone mate.

Hmm , try this :E-Album.ro - Castiga super premii , if this doesn't help , try to clean your phone by taking it apart and cleaning it with some alcohol and a tooth brush .Cheers
