K550i Camera Problems

My year old k550i's camera suddenly gave me problems. I can take a photo but during saving the camera quits on its own. I have no problem shooting & saving video though. I've tried resetting but no use. Whether saving to phone memory or memory cards the problem is the same. Pls HELP. I don't have a pc so i cant do anything about the camera's driver. I have a mac.

I have the same problem on a Z710i. Camera works, but won't save (will make shutter sound then kick me back to main menu without saving) no matter what the resolution, destination (memory stick vs. phone memory) etc. is set to. It WILL save videos just fine, as well as "framed" pictures and panoramic pictures!

Performed master reset from the phone settings to no avail, attempted to update via SEUS but was told it's up to date.

It seems to be a relatively "standard" problem, but I could find no real solution yet... any tip?
