    Applying VKP patches to K800

Hi guys, me again, sorry. I still dont have my phone working (K800 CID53 Red with K810 firmware). I'm now one step further in so far as I have all the software I need for the phone and far manager is working. Next thing I need to be able to do is apply the VKP patches I have for the phone, one of which is to unlock my phone for use with any sim. Until I do that, I cannot use the phone obviously. I have another patch which allows the phone to function without a SIM (in flight mode I suppose).

So, currently I have the Main, FS, Cust and lighteffect firmware installed. Its all fine. Then when I go into FAR and select DB2020, go to oflash and select the VKP patch I want to add, all the buttons in FAR manager are greyed out except cancel cancel cancel. I cant select anything else, so I can't add the patch. When I go into QA2020 and select bflash, the phone switches into file transfer mode immediately and drops the connection to FAR manager. The same thing happens when I select bfs.

So, what am I missing here? Is it because I haven't got the rest file added? If thats the case, I cant add the rest file because after it flashes the 4 blocks, I get a putfile somethingorother error message. Is this because I havent run the executor.b application on the phone itself? If this is the case, I'm going to need an alternative because I do not have access to a sim card that the phone will work with because Im abroad now. So is there a workaround for this? Is there a way to apply VKP patches without having to actually have the phone in a working state?

I'm tearing my hair out with this problem and could really use some help. Ive looked all over the site for further information but with no success. This whole phone modding thing is a steep learning curve. I am technically minded but Im losing patience with this. I need that phone working. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ross

    Thanks.

Gee, as if I havent already read this forum from beginning to end looking for the answer.

Anyway, now Ive a new problem. My phone wont turn on or connect to my computer at all. Its totally unresponsive. Anyone any ideas why this might be the case? I just flashed it again. I dont see why this should have happened.

Useless replies that serve no purpose aside, I got my phone to turn on again, by pressing 2 and 5 together instead of C. SO Im back to the original problem. If you can answer my question, I'll be very grateful. If youre going to patronise me and post a link to a thread that of course Ive read already, dont bother. Seriously man, you know, I spent ages searching for answers for my problem, and any time I saw a post that might be relevant had a stupid post from you with the same link every time and no useful information. Just think that the forum is here for people to ask questions and get answers to them. Otherwise, why have a forum at all? Why not just have those 2 or 3 threads you always link to and leave it at that? Those threads are fine if everything is working as it should, but it doesnt always, and as Im learning stuff, I'll actually answer questions if I can with the knowledge Ive gained so far. Im not being nasty, just making a point, and I hope you can understand. Thats all.
