SE K800i WSOD Like No Other...

Hi there!

I have a k800i which is suffering with the white screen on death :(.

I've found that if I take the battery out, and leave it for 10mins or so, it then starts up fine! That's the bit I don't understand. I've been reading and every phone with this problem hasn't been able to start up at all, where as mine can.

I suspected it could have been water damage, as several months a go it got in contact with perspiration as it was held next to the skin in a hot climate. I checked the white indicator on the battery and that appears to be fine, I removed the phone of it's housing and took it apart, and left it under a light for several hours, hoping that any moisture would be released. But however, the problem persists, so I'm suspecting it could be the firmware as all hardware on the phone appears to be fine. Speaker, screen, keys etc...

I would also like to inform that occasionally I have seen dark lines running vertically down the screen. This happens when the phone is showing a white screen, then goes to 'sleep' after a certain period of time. The lines aren't present when the phone is operating normally.

If anyone could help me on this, I'd be very greatful!!

i guess your problem is with the LCD screen
