Not picking up 3g....

hello. my phone is a w910i from england. I live in Jamaica. now we have 3G in jamaica. now the company is saying that my phone wont pick up the 3G because the phone has UMTS-2100 while the phone company in Jamaica uses UMTS1900; currently used in the united States. could some help me to flash my phone to pick up the UMTS-1900 frequency?

P.s. i tried the so-called option in menu/settings/Connectivity/mobile network/GSM/3G networks. it aint picking up.

w910i use 2100 frequency, i think u need w910a which has a different bandwidth frequency and can not flash or doing anything, since it is a hardware configuration

so I have to throw away the phone?? does anybody now what I could do to get the phone to work with 3G??
