FAR crashes unless I boot up in safe mode

Hi folks. Im new to all this and am on a steep learning curve. So far I have got FAR + JDFlasher, and my phone is a K800. At first, I had no success running FAR because as soon as I hit F11 and selected just da flasher, a windows dialog box popped up and told me "File and archive manager has stopped working" and the program closed. So I tried booting my PC in safe mode and sure enough, it works fine, to a point. I was able to flash my phone and upgrade the software to K810 RED53. It was K800 RED52. That seemed successful. Now though, thanks to SEUS, my phone is sim locked. This is why all this came about and is the problem Im ultimately trying to resolve. I got instructions to unlock my phone using a test sim and doing this that and the other with patches (not important here). Whats important is that FAR now will not let me add any of the patches. If I try to connect using qa2020, my phone disconnects and goes into file transfer mode. I cant apply the patch at all in db2020 mode. The buttons are all just greyed out. I'm thinking if I can get FAR to work not just in safe mode, I might be able to do this. Has anyone any ideas?

    Thanks.

I have 2gb of RAM in fact. I actually solved that problem in the end. For future reference for anyone searching this forum for an answer to the same problem I had, you need to uninstall MS office. There's some sort of program conflict there. There might be a way around uninstalling office, but I thought it was easier than any other way. FAR manager works fine for me now.

If you are using Windows XP, try setting the compatibility mode to Win NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5). Right click on far.exe, select properties then Compatibility tab. Good luck!

solve the issue by running it under Win95 mode! NOTHING ELSE!
