It was based on original wbxml from W995 R1FA035. It only has an effects for hearing a music with headphones through fastport (not 3.5mm jack) in Media Player.
Notes before read further:
* Example of phones that has Clear Audio Experience: Satio, Aino, W995, W715, W705, W902 and W980
This acoustics is compatible for ALL A2 DB3210 and DB3150 phones which is using wbxml accoustics. Other phones that utilize ZAPF and APF is not supported.
Attention: K850, W910 and K660 doesn't parse *.csv in tpa/preset/acoustics folder. You may give it a try by uploading only PHF and customize.xml files with a consequences of sacrificed / disappointing audio quality :)
Main Features for Version 0.9.1 Beta:
- Every volume step had been modified to show consistent performance. The bass is still maintained without distortion at max volume, even with Mega Bass.
- Increased Dynamic Range for about 6dB, depends on your acoustic selection, headphones, and audio files quality. Hear the sound as it is, like hearing with your desktop computer.
- 3D Reverberation Surround Effects with minimal impact on lower frequencies. For more effects, it is recommended to turn on Stereo Widening (or Clear Stereo for a phones that has Clear Audio Experience).
- Input signal has been enhanced as high as possible to maintain overall music instruments audibility (it doesn't mean loudness).
- Enhanced filtering for all frequencies range to maintains overall music instruments attacks.
To summarize the main features above: The main goal of this acoustic is to provides like.no.other unforgettable listening experience while still keeping the volume as low as possible to prevent ears damage and fatigue.
If you compare this acoustic with original W995, you will perceive the music as if it was played louder, although in fact the volume (sound pressure level) is still the same!
All features above can be easily noticed when hearing high quality audio files with Hi-Fi Audiophile Headphones. Mp3 audio files and standard quality headphones will not unleash full potential of this acoustics.
To install the acoustics:
- Extract the attachment
- Pay an attention to "README.txt" carefully. If you already read this post carefully, move to next step
- Read some txt and pictures if exist in the folder of your acoustic selection. They are important
- Select upload - *.zip from your desired acoustic type
- Open A2Uploader. In MISC files, click browse button and point it to upload - *.zip
- Press FLASH button. Turn off your phone, hold C and connect it. The flashing process only takes 10 seconds
- Turn on the phone. When playing the music, switch to MANUAL equalizer.
Install Attention:
- For phones that has Clear Audio Experience, DO NOT UPLOAD customize_upgrade.xml! Modify upload - *.zip then only upload manually the PHF and CSV files via "FileSystem Tool"! Use your desired equalizer :)
- DO NOT PLUG THE HEADPHONES FASTPORT WHILE PLAYING A MUSIC THROUGH LOUDSPEAKER. Stop the music first, then plug the fastport, or you will face the consequences :p
There are three types of acoustic. I highly recommend to try number 1 first. If you like it, you may experimenting by trying number 2 or 3.
For people who likes to hear a music with aggressive attack (such as rock, pop, dance and techno), you may like number 2, with some sacrifice regarding dynamic range and clarity.
Here it is. Your judgement may differs:
1. FLAT
- Recommended to try this first
- Flat Frequency Response
2. AGGRESSIVE
- You likes to hear a music with aggressive attack (such as rock, pop, dance and techno)? You didn't care about the dynamic range stuff? This is the right acoustic
- The DRC algorithm is modified to increase attack and release time. You may hear some sign of frequency hard cuts, but with pleasant listening experience. Try it yourself!
- Aggressive and Punchy Attacks in all frequencies range (low, mid and high)
- May cause ears fatigue after long listening session (compared with FLAT acoustics.) Use with caution.
You are using FLAT or AGGRESSIVE, and want to adjust the manual equalizer? Please DO NOT make any change in the first bar of manual equalizer.
The first bar has been modified to amplify low frequencies to +14dB, a value that is normally not allowed in Manual Equalizer which is limited to +8dB.
If you accidentaly lowered it, just reupload customize_upgrade.xml (located in zip file), or flash with upload -*.zip.
To make it clearer, please look at pictures below:
3. DRC OFF
- Dynamic range of audio signal is not supressed and remains original. Reveals full potential of high-bitrate audio files. Highest clarity among all other two acoustics
- Flat Frequency Response
- May cause ears fatigue after long listening session (compared with FLAT acoustics.) Use with caution
- DO NOT modify all of the 5-bar equalizer values. Modify it will make manual equalizer sounds weird.
If you want to do that, you must reset it first by upload customize.xml that is located in "Reset Manual Equalizer" to tpa/preset/custom.
There's ONE MAJOR DRAWBACK for this DRC OFF acoustics that ONLY happened when you want to modify manual equalizer.
Here is the main drawback: raising or amplify your equalizer above 1 dB / 1 bar will makes the sound distorted since the sound signal was kept as it is. To make it clearer look at picture below:
"The Solution": Decrease the other frequencies instead of raising one frequencies.
To explain it further, let's take an example from 5-band equalizer in a phone that doesn't has Clear Audio Experience.
If you usually modify it like this: | +5 | +2 | -1 | 0 | +3 |
Then adjust all values so it doesn't exceed 0 dB by subtracting all values with the highest value (in this case 5). This is how it would looks: | 0 | -3 | -6 | -5 | -2 |
Sounds quiet? Raise the volume. It would not degrade the sound quality.
By default, manual equalizer only allows maximum adjustment of 8 bar (8dB). If you want to adjust it more, you can use customize_upgrade.xml tricks.
Open customize_upgrade.xml in "Reset Manual Equalizer" folder by using notepad, and modify the value as you desired.
Max permitted adjustment is +/- 15 dB. Value above it will be ignored. I said it again: do not set it above 0 dB to prevent distortion.
Please follow the roles of "The Solution" when adjusting equalizer to prevent degraded audio quality.
Testing and Development Environment:
