Hi, I just bought a C905a from rogers without joining a plan and I noticed after I bought it that I could not set my own mp3's as ringtones. I realized after googling (a lot) that I need to debrand the phone to a generic firmware to be able to do that.
The problem is that I tried following a lot of different guides and using different tools SEtools lite, A2uploader, FarManager, JDflasher, XS++, but none of them could recognize my phone.
A2 Uploader only showed:

PHONE STATE: "RETAIL"
FLASH CID: 0053
Elapsed:0 secs.

Does A2 uploader not work for this phone? or am I doing something wrong? The others programs all show that the phone isn't supported or it isn't connected.

I have installed the driver already and it shows up as "SEMC Flash Device". And I've already installed SEUS to make sure the driver's installed and it shows my FW is up to date.

Also I've read on some forums and tutorials that A2 uploader doesnt work for CID53's. So is that the problem? But I've also read that some people with C905a also CID53 that successfully got theirs debranded.

Also (again) what is the difference between the different firmware initials for the firmwares. ie. R1BA042_RED53...from what I understand that the '53' is for the CID and the '034' is the version number? so what is the difference between R1BA, R1DA, R1DE, R1DF, R1EA? I'm in Canada, and I want an english one.

I've spent so many hours looking for different guides and seeing if anyone had the same problem as me, but I couldn't find any.
