580i now dead! thankyou sony!!

i broke the screen on my w580i a year ago and finally got a new screen, no dramas, phone has been working fine for the past week.

I then thought it a good idea to use the sony ericsson update service to keep the phone running smoothly, WRONG MOVE!!

the application downloaded the updates and started installing them on the phone, then said "update failed - make sure phone is charged" which it was. NOW the phone refuses to turn on, wont recognise the charger or usb cable and is basically DEAD.:mad:

BY SOME MIRACLE IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN SALVAGE THIS PHONE!! there is no current warranty on it because i brought it so long ago (even though its only had about 3 months of actually working)

and all im getting is this-

can i cry now or am i doing something wrong?

also i tryed to backup gdfs, but it wouldnt let me...

Try using the custom flash option and flash using one of the CDA packs and selecting your phone type. I am currently trying to unlock a 580i myself, but not having much luck... but it may help you. So far I haven't bricked mine yet using XS++ so fingers crossed!

Try looking at this link to see which CDA you need to use...

Where did you manage to download the firmware? I cannot find the generic europe one for the W580i anywhere. I have one rar downloaded but it is broken... Thanks

i found it in the d/load section on this site.
I cant do a custom flash because it doesnt list my 580i :/
