NEWBIE!! help unlocking W880i

Hi guys I am new to all this unlocking business but I need my vodafone locked W880i unlocked. Help is really appreciated. I downloaded setool lite V1.11..managed to flash and identify it and this is what I got: -

I downloaded these files from topsony: -
W880_R1JC002_MAIN_GENERIC_AI_RED51
W880_R1JC002_FS_EUROPE_2_RED51

used simlockpatch generator to create a vkp file from the W880_R1JC002_MAIN_GENERIC_AI_RED51. When I entered all these files into Setool, I keep on getting unsupported combination. I have absolutely no idea how to use jdflasher, tried it but got mixed up with all the rest files and dont even know if Im using the right main generic and FS files.. Help would be really appreciated...Im sure one of you clever clogs can help me get my phone unlocked...Thank You...

Hi,
I've recently unlocked mine, and encountered the exact same problem. The answer for me was in SEtools, do NOT tick DB2020 Security.

Also, you should edit your above post and remove your IMEI number

Let me know if that sorts, if not I'll try and remember the exact process I went through :-)

Thanks littledave...i have upgraded the firmware to CID52 R8BA04, by using XS++ to flash the firmware, FS and custom pack and then used SEtools to flash the remove sim lock patch, that did the job. My W880i is finalled unlocked yayyyy however my green and red phone buttons are not doing what they supposed to be doing. You can still use the phone however when you press the green phone button it skips straight to internet browser instead of calling the contact on the phone. Does anyone know why this is the case...is it due to R8BA04 custom pack..has anyone had the same problem..

this is not a problem, the function changes as it is a generic firmware (a phone sold without branded), branded firmware has a specific function and generci firmware has the original function
