k790i White Screen Flashing (Dead)

Hey guys! I've got this K790i with me. This phone is totally crazy! lol

In the beginning, when i tried turning on the phone, the red light near the battery would blink and no display would come up. Sometimes when i plugged it in to the charger, the screen would turn on but would display nothing. While this happening, i cant even turn off my phone. (No sounds, nothing! Its all dead with a white screen)

Then i tried these steps in setools2lite v1.11.

a.Turn off the phone, remove the battery, sim and memory card,
1.run setool2 lite 1.11
2.select phone type from phone type drop-down list, (k790 in my case)
3.press identify
4.reinsurt battery and holding down 2+5 connect the phone
5.press the unlock/repair button

Now when i press unlock/repair button, it asks me to hold the C button and insert the cable though its already inserted and detected when i press 2+5 and insert it in step 4.

Now after doing this, my phone would turn on (would vibrate once after turning on) and display a white screen. After a few seconds, the screen would start flickering and would show some blue lines too.

Some say that i need to repair my EROM. Now how do i do that?? I am totally confused cause its mentioned in some sites that these steps repairs the EROM. But i havent downloaded any EROM file or anything!


I've even used XS++ to flash my MAIN and FS. It all works great. Doesnt display a single error!!

People say that if the EROM is corrupt, the phone wont be detected when you press the 'C' button. Is that true? Cause holding the 'C' button works for me!!

I've asked a loooot of questions here but i just want my phone to get back to life! :( Its been a long time now. I've dedicated a lot of time on it trying to get it back to life.

But in your case you have repaired your EROM through Setool. That's why it is supporting. But sometimes you will have the problem, because your EROM has not been repaired at all.

My k790 is also having problems. It turns on but it's menus are missing everything, im just staring at a theme texture. It connects to XS++ after starting with c button but flashing seems to do nothing. This is very frustrating as I only have a dinky loaner phone to use right now. Are there any recovery options for the phone?

Where did you get from k790_r8bf003_fs_america_2_red52.fbn. Check it with "babeck.exe" to see if it's OK. If you want to go to Rogers, you must first flash back their firmware.

I think I got it off of a random google search so probably not legit. Babeck seems to confirm this giving errors when pointed at the firmware. I would like to quickly add that I had to use Babeck v0.5 as v0.6 was flagged as a trojan.

So im not sure what to get for my phone now. If you could recommend a set of files to try that'd be a great help.

Sorry I didn't mention. Flashing with the Sony Ericsson Update Service was one of the first things I tried. Said my phone was up to date and fine :(

try to see if u have 2 folder of se tool lite in one of the folder may be you have to find a backup of your gdfs try this maybe it will work
