How to use alpha characters to browse contacts

Hi guys, I'm an ex Nokia owner.
Here's a problem I have with my W890i.
When browsing my contacts, I can only use characters of the alphabet based on the phone language.
For example if my phone language is Greek, then I can't browse my contacts by typing Latin characters. So...e.g. I can't jump quickly to names starting from "J", as "J" does not exist in the Greek alphabet. Any suggestions?
