I have just figured out with, the help of the certain information already published out on the net, to unlock sony ericsson w810. This will work MOST LIKELY on others as well, as long as it supports DB2000/DB2010/DB2012/DB2020 CID36/49/50/51/52 MAIN firmwares.
Oh and btw, of course I did this on a Windows comp. As mentioned before, google and make sure your phone can be supported for sure.
Here is what you need:
1. Simox Unlock Patch Generator: http://www.josephn.net/download/sefi...2%5B1%5D.1.rar
2. Your phones MAIN firmware. Has to be in .mbn or .bin file format. NOT .fbn. Will not work with .fbn. Live and learn ;) just google them or find 'em here in TS.
3. SElite tools2: http://www.josephn.net/download/sefi...lock_stuff.zip Does not have to be this one. Google and you can find plenty of site hosting it.
4. Of course make sure you have installed the USB Flash Drivers. This is a MUST. You can just install the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)from their main website.
5. The DCU-60 USB Cable. LOL kinda need it, no way around it.
6. Make sure you are running a Windows computer. Works XP, Vista, 2000, 2003. Will not work on x64. Sorry:(
Also, before proceeding, make sure that the firmware you have currently on your phone matches the one you will be using to patch up with SIMLockPatchGen. If not, you can have some potential problems.
Alright. The moment you have been waiting for! Here is a quick step by step guide.
1. This is not required but highly recommended for those who are taking a deep breath and attempting something like this for the first time. MAKE A BACKUP OF THE GDSF using SELT2. You never know. Better safe than sorry.
2. Run SIMLockPatchGen once you extract it and drag the main firmware (.bin or .mbn) and it will create one like in a snap. It will be stored in the VPK folder, in the SIMLockPatchGen folder, where ever you extracted it. Your done with that!
3. Now the fun part. Open up SELT2 and make sure your phone is on the list. If it is not, most likely it is not supported. Sorry :/ Find it select it. Now go down to the box MISC files: and browse for that lovely vpk file you have created. Select it and select flash and do the process to hook it up.
4. It will ask you to probably take out the cable and take out battery and hook it up again pressing the famous C and plugging cable in combo. LEAVE it now. This should take a few minutes, but can take longer varying from model. Make sure not to hit anything else while doing this because it probably can and will brick your phone. Once it is done, you will be able to tell.
5. Viola! You now have an unlocked SE handset. Screw waiting hours on the phone or days to get email from your provider for that unlock code. If you are up to the challenge, take it up to yourself to unlock it! Only if you feel comfortable doing this.
If you have any questions or run into any problems, PM me or post and i'll do my best to help you. :)
Do not hold me responsible for anything that goes wrong in the process. It is your fault and I can of course try and help you if anything. Once again THANKS and ENJOY!!:)
