Dear All ...

You have probably heard this a million times but ... "I am new and looking for assistance ..."

So if anyone could please spare the time i would appreciate some feedback into what i am doing wrong. I am obviously new to this and although i have tried reading as much as i can on this subject, i am either lost, completely on the wrong track or have smoked to much pot ! lol.

I have been trying to unlock my sony w580i. It is currently on Orange and used to be my sisters. I think when she conected it to sonys update package the phone updated and is now a CID53 (from my understanding when updating the phone you can cause it to change to a harder unlocking system for people trying to open their phones up. i.e - CID52 --> CID53.)

I followed the instructions laid out by a forum on here ... i can not find the url to the page i was on here. I was basically following this website tho (Any/ALL CID Patching Tutorial/Guide DB2020 | SE Flashing) and the tutorial download in java thats an .exe file.

so i am going to try and list what i have done and hopefully if i am on the right track someone can point me forwards.

I have downloaded the firmware for my phone correctly (i think) and used JDflasher and anyCID to get the files required to proceed.

I have used SIMlockPatch 2.2 to create the .VKP file to *flash* my phone instead of qmaker as my pc kept saying there was a virus and also i read to use this program somewhere. To make the .rest file i used Mkrest2.exe in the JDflasher directory.

I put all the files i was to use in a directory called "Working" ... so i have :

1. executor.b
2. executor.jar
3. customize_upgrade.xml
4. prgCXC1123362_GENERIC_LA_R8BE001.rest
5. Remove_SIM_lock_W580_R8BE001_GENERIC.vkp

I ran 'Far' and put the first 3 files onto the phone in the: tpa\preset\custom\ folder and exited the program.

When loading my phone up this is the problem i have ran into. I went to games and selected 'executor' but the phone said 'Operation Failed' ............... :(
and so i can not proceed.

Could anyone who thinks they could assist please help. It will be greatly appreciate.
Many thanks for reading and i hope my spelling hasn't been too bad !!!

Thanks.

Dave.
