In this Tutorial I will show how to use Farmanger to change the icons in the menusystem and in the mediaplayer, to delete the operator logo.
If you have CID49 stop read now. If you don't know which CID you have download GFlash
Install it and see the CID.
First of all; I am in no way responsible for whatever you might do to your phone if you choose to follow this tutorial. YOU may destroy the phone if you do something crazy. But that's not my problem. It's YOUR responsibility if you do something with your phone.
In this first step download Farmanager
Download Farmanager
Install Far.
Next step Download SEFP. (Credits to Darkmen for the plugin.)
Download SEFP
Unzip it to \Program Files\Far\Plugins\ folder
When you start FAR you'll get this screen:
Pressing Alt+F1 gives you this screen:
Select "SEFP" from the list to enter the phone. Make sure the phone is turned off and the DCU-60 cable is connected to the computer but NOT the phone.
Choose your phone on this screen. Since I have a w800 I take that option. Press [Enter the Matrix] to continue.
Press the "C" button on your phone
Your phone will be detected
And release the "C" button
The program connects to the phone and you will se this screen.
Choose FS(Filesystem)
Now You are totally in the phone and we shall proceed to /tpa/preset/system/menu
It is here you change the menu icons.
As you can see there is a file called menu.ml in the phone.
Before you delete it make a backup of it to the computer.
Copy the icons you wan't to the phone and a edited menu.ml file.
No we shall change the mediaplayer.
To step backwards in FAR. press the .. button.
Go to \tpa\system\multimedia\mp
Don't touch any of the files in the mp folder, they are neccesary for the mediaplayer.
Mark the icons and copy them to the phone.
A warning about changing icons in the mediaplayer.
Adding media player skins sometimes causes a memory overload, and makes pictures inaccessible, camera stops working and media player reverts to original look. This is fixed by restarting the phone. There is no permanant solution yet other than not use it.
there are 2 different ways to delete the oplogo, both are in the same file.
the first one deletes both lines of operator text(some operators use 2 lines)
and the other one deletes only one line, since most operators only uses one line this is the most common way to delete it, but I shall describe them both.
we shall proceed to \tpa\system\layout\
and open up the layout.xml file
press F4 to edit a file in farmanager.
Press F7 to search for Statusindication.
the original settings look like this
to take away both lines we shall edit TitleMode value to 4 and edit OverlayStyle to 0.
To take away only one line the titlemode shall be 4 and overlaystyle 2
Press F2 to save.
To exit SEFP go back all the way to this screen
Press .. again. And you will recieve this screen.
Press YES. And Close FAR by pressing the X button or Alt+F4
And unplug the phone, take out the battery some seconds, insert and turn on your phone
