unlocking k770i

Hi... I got my SE K770i 2 days ago and I found out that I can use it for alot more if I unlock or unbrand or patch it (I don't know what's the difference, or what they mean...). So I downloaded XS++ and tried to connect my phone.. I removed the SIM and MS, turned off the phone, pressed Connect on XS++, holded C on the phone and connected the USB cabel, but I think the program didn't detect my phone, 'cause after about 30 seconds it said that it cannot open some communication port...I read a few threads about unlocking k770i and I think I need some drivers from SE official website... Can anybody guide me abit, please... :confused:

I don't know if you understood me - I'm a total noob... I don't know anything, what's debranding or unlocking or patching or sim-lock... actualy the first link is for K800, I don't know how to do it on K770i (I see some information I gotta read from my phone, but I don't see anything in common)... If you have skype please write me: shadowmaster51 Or can you give me a link or some more info, I'm pretty confused right now...
also: 1. Back up your SMS, contacts, notes ... with MyPhoneExplorer_Setup_1.7.0.exe

doh.. I think it bricked my phone.. I made it to the 6th step, when I pressed on copy, then copy again, then just flash it, and something went wrong.. some error poped up, and now I cannot connect my phone to that Far program again, I can't even turn on the phone... what now? :confused:
OK.. I fixed it myself.. nothing is bricked.. I copied everything... but there is one more question:
Now can turn on phone and see on screen Please wait !!!

Open tpa/preset/system/lighteffect/systemeffects

do I need this - I can't find that file for K770...Also - no "Please wait" pops up on my screen (as I see, it's an attached file, not in the site's downloads).

hm... there's another problem: I read the whole post about unlocking, at the end there was a line: I'm sorry,but I'll finish this tutorial very soon
should I do everything till the 10th step, cause I need my phone...

And - should I do all 10 steps in the unlocking tutorial? I need my phone tomorrow.
By the way, can anybody give me a link to some topic or something, where all features of an unlocked phone are listed, please?
