you might, but you need to debrand it first to get wifi

totally different, debranding means putting/flashing GENERIC firmware but not unlock and unlock means making your phone to use any provider.

Did you turned off the phone before starting the unlock procedure ?

Only 1 problem.
Booted via EROM and not via ROM.
