w850i flashing white screen, even when turned off

The way i have solved this before is:

By simply placeing the phone in a bag of rice (obviously not cooked)
the rice seems to absorbe the water in the phone well and provided my phone with a fix, however the screen showed what seemed like snow for three days and then went.

I also then took the phone apart and did the process again as to some how hope it would not rust.
