K800i -> K810i Problems!

Hi, this is my first post here so be gentle :P

I currently own a k800i which i have had for about 5 months now (R8BF003 CiD 53, CDA102511/130 )Yesterday I came accross a guide on these forums to upgrade to K810i. As I understand it R8BF003 is the latest firmware type for this phone so downgrading to R8BA024 cant be done(?) but when I tried it and flashed the red53 003 main and FS I rebooted the phone as the guide suggests and saw "please wait" on the screen but the screen was flashing on and off rapidly and repeatedly. I tried 4 or 5 times to reflash and re-read the guide to make sure i missed nothing but still came back to this problem.

Eventually IR8BA024 had to reflash back to k800 to get the phone into a useable state ( and even after this my phone has changed it looks kinda ugly now lol) so I was wondering if any one else has had this problem and how they fixed it? After I get the phone upgraded to K810i I am looking to "pimp" it to the max - I saw in the forum signature of one of your users that they changed cam driver ad disp and sound drivers too and this is something I would like to look into too if i can get around this. My phone is vodaphone branded and the 800 firmware i flashed back to was generic which I am guessing is why it is currently so ugly?

If anyone could help me get this fone into a workable K810i state it would be MUCH appreciated as i spent a good 8 hours trying it yesterday. Any help you guys can give me will be welcomned with open arms let me tell you!

you can downgrade but what's the use in downgrading? lol, if your phone is only about 5 months old, then upgrading to K810 cannot be done as i heard some information about the LCD newer and imcompatible with K810i firmware, but you can bet your luck with the latest firmware version of K810i which is R8BF.....

Hi and thanks for the reply. I just tried one more flash just now andthistime i get beyond the please waait screen and onto the flight mode and normal mode selection screen but the phone is still flashing insanely. Ive had the phone 5 months but i believe it was older than that as it was given to me by a family member. I will flash back to k800 for now and perhaps later try the other firmware you suggested but after that i think i will give it a miss, starting to get annoyed with it lol. Strange that it finally went passed the please wait screen today though!

Turns out after much googling that I would have to change LCD to get this to work and I dont fancy shelling out for another screen. So my upgrading journy ends here, thanks for the input in this thread
