I have a couple of questions about my new w760.
It was a 760a from ATT and flashed it and debranded it. Now I have the latest SEUS 760a firmware with no branding. I don't have a data plan.
My questions are:
1) How long does it take to come up with my GPS location? The other day it took just 10 seconds or so, and it tracked me driving all the way to work, saved it as gpx and mapped it to google just fine. Awesome stuff. However, since then, it has not again picked up a GPS signal. If i hit the tracker again, or the Status Info, it says searching forever.
2) How can I get the ATT data network settings into the phone? I went to the SE website and tried to get them to send me the settings, but I have yet to receive anything. On my old SE phones, the settings usually came in minutes. Its been a couple of days now and no settings.
OK.
Since the official SE tool to send myself the internet settings did not work, I manually found the settings for a w810 phone (my old phone) and punched them in to the 760.
Here is the page with instructions:
Answer Center | AT&T, formerly Cingular
Now the GPS locates in less than 10 seconds, and with the Assisted GPS feature off, so it does not use any internet data at all. It just pings the towers now that it knows how and the settings are in there.
I could not edit my previous post, but maybe someone finds this useful.
