i have the setool2liteand have watched the video that comes with it. during the Read GDFS its supposed to make a mbn file, when i do it, it only makes a bin file and then it won't change it to the vkp file. am i doing something wrong?

I think you're mixing things. The GDFS backup has ".bin" format. ".mbn" and ".fbn" are the MAIN and FS you're using to flash and the patches have ".vkp" extension.
