    Re: w595 Flashing

I can't see the battery being a problem. It's a new phone with a new battery that was fully chargered earlier that day. It was probably around 95% full when it first failed.

I'm not sure what's happened to it but all it will do is light up when switched on.

I don't have any other SE phones. Only Nokia :(

Yeah the screen and keypad backlights illuminate - that's all. Nothing else happens.

SEUS still detects it and will try and upgrade it, so USB connectivity is still fine.

Only had it on whilst trying to flash. It's probably been flashed for about an hour (multiple retries). The files came from SEUS - it automatically found the latest W595 Orange UK firmware. It started to flash and all looked good until it died at 65%. It dies everytime at 65%!

can't remember - I followed the instructions but I think it says it has to be off. Holding C and connecting the cable makes it go into flash mode.

I may have had it connected when I first went to flash it, hope that hasn't screwed it up.

    Re: w595 Flashing

Why don't you just flash with:
    W595_R3DA026_MAIN_GENERIC_LT_RED52
    W595_R3DA026_FS_NORDIC_RED52
    Linda_i_1214-6022_R1A_Netcom_Norway, following this tutorial
    A2-DB3150 Flashing - Top Sony Forums ?
Later you can use SEUS and you'll get the latest firmware(R3A037).

    Re: w595 Flashing

SEUS isn't going to work. I've tried it on 2 different PCs. The W595 looks to have some good features but Sony could learn a lesson or 2 from Nokia, as their updating software is much better!

I'll try the A2 Uploader and the tutorial. AVG AntiVirus thinks its a trojan and keeps trying to lock it down. I'll see if I can get it working. Thanks.
