Is it possible that the usb cable needs changing? I have oticed that several times I need to press it firmly on the phone in order for the pc to understand it's connected.
Do u think I will have better luck on Vista?
Could you also tell me which files to download? the latest firmware,MAIN and FS files?
Should I look for CID53? and then what's the newest among those listed?

it depends on what cid you have, if you have cid53, you can look for cid53 otherwise its useless looking for that.
