angelyne: yes for some reason the SE website doesn't work for sending settings to Rogers phones, it's been broken for years now but I have no idea why! I've posted working settings over on HowardForums, check here.
Since the W760 is not considered a smartphone, we qualify for the $7 unlimited data plan. It is supposed to be limited to the Rogers branded browser only, but if you use the settings above you should not be charged for using 3rd party applications such as Opera Mini. I had a debranded W580i for almost a year and never got charged overages, so far I've used lots of Google Maps, Gmail, and Opear Mini on my W760i so I'll have to see if I get charged for it or not.
I have also successfully rebranded my phone back to Rogers firmware by flashing a customize_upgrade.xml file to change the CDA back to 1214-8074. Unlike the AT&T phones, that's all you need to do to go back to Rogers firmware, so far at least. Just copy this file over to tpa/preset/custom using A2 Uploader, boot up your phone, then plug it in to SEUS to reflash back to Rogers firmware. Here's the code I used:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<customization>
<info>
<cda-number>1214-8074</cda-number>
<cda-revision>R7A</cda-revision>
</info>
</customization>
