Hack Sony Ericsson W760a to make it use GSM only and not 3G

Is it possible to make the Sony Ericsson W760a from AT&T use the GSM network only and not the 3G network? I'm asking this cause I have a phone charm that lights up when someone calls and it only works on the GSM frequency not the 3G one.

So question is, Is it possible to disable 3G in Sony Ericsson W760

Go to settings->connectivity->Mobile networks->GSM/ 3G networks

Try it first before debranding then if it doesn't then debrand it

Oh I don't have the phone yet, I'm trying to make sure it works cause I have a phone charm that only works if its GSM. It might influence my decision on whether to get the W760i.

ATT removed that GSM only option. Debranded W760a has that option back, works well.
