It depends from your operator ( branding ). But I think not.

My debranding was unsuccessful (phone details in my first post). Here's what I did:
1)Using a2-uploader, I copied "customize_upgrade.xml" (generated by cda-generator) to tpa/preset
/custom. I made sure the file was actually copied.
2)Close FileSystem, stop, quit.
3)Switch phone on, switch phone off.
4)Update with SEUS per instructions.
According to SEUS, my phone is up to date, so the debranding failed. Same result using upper case C for filename (Customize_upgrade.xml).

Each time I retried, I noticed that the customize file that I had previously copied to tpa/preset/custom wasn't there anymore.
Is it possible that the phone filesystem deletes unknown files?
