    w580i update search

    Dear Sony Ericsson users,

Just recently i decided to move to another operator: Vodafone instead of Hi (Yes, they're dutch operators.) So I bought this SIM for vodafone and tried it to work on my phone. When I turned my phone on, my new SIM didn't work so I was like: "Uhh??", so I figured I'd have to search for updates on my phone, so I did and all it said was this error:
    "Device mgmt.
    SonyEricsson
    Communication
    interrupted"
I tried it with my old SIM and still it wouldn't work, so it's nothing to do with the new SIM or the operator. Yes, my phone is SIM-lock free and no, I haven't tried calling the customer's service yet because they're closed right now and I'm out of credit and I need to send some quick messages. Please help if you feel like it.
The phone is a w580i Sony Ericsson.

    Regards,

    Rob.

Ah, so do you think that's the problem? Or is there anythere reason my SIM won't work?

It should work since you said you are already unlocked. I don't think you need to risk being updated to CID53 by using the Update Service. It might be a problem with the new SIM card. Maybe it is defective?
