how can i edit W760i predefined buttons.

after debranding my 760 i notticed that it changed the deathstar button(ATT) to shortcuts. which was expected
but i did not expect it to change and lock the UP joystick button to"location services"
and right softkey to phonebook.
that layout totally messed up the usefullness of the rest of my keys because previous phones had them customizable.

so far i have not found a clear answer to my question.
as i understood from this forum its not possible to edit the settings on the phone yet

but is it possible to extract the filesystem?
and settings from it to my PC, edit the files, and then load them back to my phone with my personal settings?

and how would i do that?

in simple words how can i customize (unlock) those buttons so i can reassign them to different things?

You can change them in the menu: settings: general: shortcuts.

again the buttons are predefined and "LOCKED" so they cannot be changed thru menus.

can someone with knowledge help me out.

i have no idea what im looking for yet.

i downloaded the latest a2 uploader since i guess thats the only tool for DB3150

but what i do with that i have no clue since its not a common thing to mod i couldnt find any tutorials on it.

im reading thru flash menu tutorials and others but they are no help in this particular issue.


is there a way i can download the ATT branded version and SE unbranded version and compare them?

which file contains the shortcut settings anyway MAIN or FS?

can you please upload your W760s filesystem. I have a w580i debranded from att and right now im trying to get my phone as close to the W760 as possible. I already have the complete MENU.ML from the W760 with the default icons. I really want to splash, startup and shutdown sounds and pix.
