i want the lights on the side to stay permanently blue, the icon to appear like the w760 (the ones that you can scroll through) And to add the Metal Gear Solid Slide Sound.. Thanks For the Help

OK, you need lighteffects,flash menu and slide sound - if I understand you wright.
First you must find that (if you already have) than you need to use FSX in XS++ for uploading that files to phone.Lighteffects gous to /tpa/preset/system/lighteffects/systemeffects/ ...........flash menu(2 files) - theme goes to /tpa/user/theme/ and .swf file goes to /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash/.................... and sound slide - for that I'm not sure,because haven't slider phone

What exactly does firmware do to your phone?

So i just need to find the light effects, and the icons. from the post that they have in here and the just send them to my desktop.?

With firmware you can upgrade your firm version to newest or with generic you can debrand phone( maybe you will need to debrand )

ok. so how do i debrand the phone? i was following a flashing guide written by mohdumer... and on the second step of the flashing firmware is where i got stuck..does debaranding the phone just unlock it so i can add and remove stuff

Yes and no- debrand remove all stuff that your provider put in phone with branded firmware.puting generic firmware you will remove all this,but some buttons loose functionallity that have wright now(in generic they have some other functions).
Good thing is - you can do what ever you want after debranding.And you need this 3 files for debranding:

MAIN: W580_R8BE001_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
FS: W580_R8BE001_FS_EUROPE_5_RED52 and
CUSTPACK: HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_14_R8A_GENERIC_EUROPE_5
