    Problem with GDFS backup on K550i

    I have a K550i I wanted to backup using XS++, I tried ver 3.1 and 3.2 but ran into this problem:

    18:28:53| XS++ v3.2 Dev1 (Crystal) Ready !
    18:28:53| Executed on Microsoft Windows XP
    18:32:52|
    18:32:52| Attempting to open the interface...
    18:32:52|
    18:32:52| TURN OFF PHONE!
    18:32:52| Hold 'C' button on phone and connect phone NOW.
    18:32:52| You have 30 seconds...
    18:32:52|
    18:32:52| Baseband ID: 9900
    18:32:52| Protocol Version: 3.1
    18:32:52| Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:NULL GDFS:K550)
    18:32:52| ...using GDFS name

    18:32:52| Platform: DB2020
    18:32:52| OTP CID: 51
    18:32:52| EROM CID: 53
    18:32:52| EROM Color: Red
    18:32:52| IMEI: 35433302xxxxxx
    18:32:52| Phone ID: K550
    18:32:52| Region: AMERICA_1
    18:32:52| CDA: CDA102743/114 R1A
    18:32:52| Firmware Version: R6BC002
    18:32:52| EROM: R3A022
    18:32:52| Ready for operation!
    18:32:55| Sorry, your phone is NOT SUPPORTED
    18:32:55| Error: Failed to send CSLoader!
    18:32:55| FSX Shutdown!
    18:32:57| Disconnected... Unplug the phone
    18:32:59| Shutting down...

    Any ideas? I'm completely new to this, I simply wanted to try out the new firmware and I read that doing a GDFS backup is how I can go back to the original firmware I got the phone with. I looked up that IMEI:NULL GDFS:K550 message, found that I need to be CID52 or 53 but when I use SEUS, It says I already have the latest version, but I run it anyways but still reads as CID51

    No, your phone is cid53 and xs++ or setool lite doesn`t support it. Only xs++ 4.1 beta supports cid53 , but it`s only for linux.

    You can use Flashing with jdflasher - Top Sony Forums for flashing.

    Re: Problem with GDFS backup on K550i

    What I really want is to put new camera drivers on. Does this mean I wont be able too? I'm not afraid of Linux, so I can get the beta, but will that allow me to update the camera drivers?

    And looking around for information the the latest firmware available for the K550i, the generic just seems to offer an update to java, but what about the t-mobile version? I am a t-mobile customer, but in the US, is this one only for t-mobile in Europe?

    Re: Problem with GDFS backup on K550i

    Well I can say using virtualbox is a good way to try xs++ 4.1 beta without having a whole separate linux install. Anyways I tried it out but ran into another problem when using the read gdfs function to backup my phone.

    XS++ Ready to work...
    [-------------GDFS Backup Routine-------------]
    driver_idx = 0 count=4
    Created '/Backup' dir!
    Sending data/loader/db2020_cid01blue_recovery_p3n.bin...
    Header: Failed
    Sending PRODUCTION_ID APPLET...
    Sending data/loader/db2020_cid01_prodid_p3j.bin...
    Header: Failed
    Sending data/loader/db2020_cid53red_cs_r3a013.bin...
    Header: Failed
    Error: Failed to send CSLoader!

    No idea as to whats going on. The phone does still work so I know nothing has happened to it yet.
