New PC user going Mad - can you help

First , not too sure where to post this, so sorry if its in the wrong place,

Ive just bought myself a first new netbook running Windows XP , and as Apple Mac user I am not having much luck in getting
my new netbook connected to the internet using the k790i and its EDGE option, my first problem thats driving me mad is here

Sony Ericsson - Support - Software - K790i - PC Suite



this is the SE download for the ..... Sony Ericsson PC Suite 4.006.00

which I believe I need to enable my K790i using a USB cable to connect my new netbook to the internet using the EDGE option


Ive tried all day to download this but to no avail , for some strange reason it will not download, Ive tried several friends PC's and its the same, can some one please tell me if the Sony Ericsson PC Suite 4.006.00 is really needed to allow me to use my K790i EDGE option to connect to the internet on my new netbook, or am I doing some thing wrong .?

any comments or advice would be most welcome to this new PC user. :(

did you not get the cd that came whith your phone cose all you have to do is run it and then its dune

Or you can try with this program - floAt's Mobile Agent (it's free and it's good,but I didn't try to surf from PC thrue mobile phone) http://fma.sourceforge.net/

Call your operator for help, regarding settings for connecting through PC. You can also directly connect by using new connection wizard in XP.., with setting DATA in hand.
