First of all read this XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering - Top Sony Forums ,download XS++3.1 and follow instructions for installing USB flash drivers and after that,when you first time connect your phone with XS++ post log from XS here without IMEI number

Try with this drivers Top Sony Forums ,change USB port and clean conector on phone.

Or try installing SEUS, it will install the USB drivers :) . Then update, there is no CID higher than 49 for w300i so don't worry
