How to increase SMS storage in W700i using FAR

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to increase the SMS storage in W700i using FAR Manager?

Hey guy's, this is the first guide i'm posting anywhere, I've tried to make it as simple as possible, It's about increasing the sms storage limit in the CID 49 phones.

Essential Tools Required :

PhoneXS 2.10 Alpha 5 ( or new PhoneXS ++) so we can flash a part of a firmware into our phones!

Far Manager - FAR Manager official site

SEFP Plugin for CID49 by Darkman- UPLOADING Web Hosting

USB FLASH DRIVERS- RAPIDSHARE Web Hosting

DCU-60 (Default USB cable )

Alright, once you get all the above files, install the usb flash driver (If you have used SEUS then you may have already got the drivers installed on the system) . Also it is recommended to have your contacts, messages and other data on the phone backed up by using a program like my phone explorer (FJ Software Development )

1) Take a backup of your contacts and messages with My Phone Explorer (i.e select all msgs & copy to archieve).

*Extract the file (db2010cid49_3_2.rar.zip) to a folder ! Inside it you will see 2 folders and 2 files and in this ! The folder SEFP must be copied to the SEFP folder in the FarManager170PluginsSEFP ! If windows ask to overwrite files, choose YES. Also you must EXECUTE the file "sefp0.10.0.51patch.exe " to apply patch so all Erom versions can work with FAR properly!

STEP 1:

Open PhoneXS 2.10 Alpha 5, select your Cable and Press Start! With your phone shut down , connect it to your PC holding de C button! Wait for PhoneXS to recognise it!

STEP 2:

Now you must remember where you´ve extracted the file from den_po!!
Select Flash Main Firmware in the PhoneXs and point it to the folder you extracted the files! Select then the file that corresponds to your phone , in my case (W700) W700_r2e_dcu.49r.ssw !
Then Press Flash !

STEP 3:

The flash will start and should take less than a minute!
It will then appear Finishing Flash , after 30 seconds you can Press Stop (this from what a i read is kind of a bug from phoneXs ,it finalizes the flash but keeps on the finishing flash line) , press YES to confirm and then Close to shut down PhoneXS

STEP 4:

Now unplug your phone, remove battery and after 30 seconds put it again!

PS.: After you have flashed wit the ssw file YOU MUST NOT TURN ON THE PHONE! IT won´t WORK!! You can only turn it on again after flashing back the normal firmware which is explained in the end of this tuto!

Let´s Open now Far Manager!
Press ALT+F1 and Select SEFP !

STEP 5:

Select the cable , maximum Speed and the script which represents your phone and press Enter The Matrix ! After That you will have FS and FLASH , just press FS and you should be able to access it just like you can on CID 36 phones !

If you have not got the flash driver installed properly or have not connected the phone properly you could get the following error message.

However if everything goes well, you will get the phone detected message.

STEP 6:

When you click on the fs(Filesystem) Folder you will again get a box with some messages scrolling through.

STEP 7:

To remove the sms storage limit, browse to the /ifs/settings/messaging folder

Now select pref_store.txt file and click F4 to edit it

change the "/sms data" to "/tpa" press F2 to save, then F10 to quit

Now keep going a level back towrds the root dir (i.e by pressing the .. ) until it asks you if you want to shut down the loader, select yes to quit.
STEP 8:

Open FAR again and make same procedure to connect your phone !
Now Click On FLASH .

And this u will go to FLASH Folder. Next you will select the rest file rest_W700_R1DB001.bin

STEP 9:

Those are Firmware files that you must flash so you can you make your phone work again!!
You must flash the one which represents your current Firmware ( in my case R1DB001 ) ! You will only flash one file !
After selected the file you´ll flash Press F5 to copy it to the phone!

Press Copy again to Confirm !

Just let it in the way it appears , only make sure FLASH BABE ssw image is selected and then press FLASH !

STEP 10:

Presse Close , quit Far , unplug phone , unplug battery and after 20 seconds put it again !
Now Turn on Phone , you have now a modded CID 49 phone !!

You might find your sms's missing, now open my phone explorer and then restore the backup of the sms's (the alternate way of doing this is by copying all the files in sms data folder to tpa folder , but i'm not sure if it works cos i havn't tried it out yet)

You can do a lot of things to the phone using farmanager, you can increase the play volume, have flash theme's, change icon's etc. will post a guide for that if you want it and like this one

I have successfully tried in my W700.

I've followed the procedures exactly for my w700i, but when i switched on my phone it gives error "Configuration error please contact your network operator or service center"
I updated my phone firmware using sony update service but still the problem is there.
Can some one tell me how to fix this error?
Please coz i'am not able to use my phone.

Where will i find rest_W700_R1DB001.bin file coz when i flashed with rest_W700_R1DB001.bin it was giving error cannot activate gdfs, so i flashed my phone with the main firmware, i tried to manage my phone to work but y rest_W700_R1DB001.bin was giving error? may be it was corrupt any other ling to download rest_W700_R1DB001.bin???
My sms limit is still exist when reached to about 180sms it shows 95% full. I followed the procedure, but still, any 1 is facing the same problem???

It dosent work on w700i (increasing sms storage capacity)
Any 1 have personally tried on w700i then give the procedure.

How can i extract my SMS before do that?

that guide is good and precise. it is exactly how it should be. if youll follow that it should work on most phones. if not you probably didnt use the right fw or you didnt follow it exactly. i dont know about w700 but it should work. try changing to different folder for example to where the folder "other" is. and copy(not move) all from the original folder to the new one. or just use the patch...
