They use their own java based OS I believe. But they are teaming up with Sagem for a new OS.
Hello! i'm quite a noob, but i have played some with FAR. I wonder. Would it be possible to make a java program that runs .exe programs? so that you could have .exe programs on you phone? Plz give an answer, i've thougt about this a very long time! :P Thanks!
Nope that isn't possible. Not now atleast mate :)
There was a way.I red i in some forum long time ago. Some fellow of Japan make his phone read exe files, but it was Windows Mobile OS and the phone was Motorola V700 (MPx200).I think it is highly unlikely, because I also thought about it for a long time. Then I understood it's not so simple to do it. May be...
p.s.If i fined the forum i will send you post with the link adress.
SE uses SEMC OS on it's phones. It is not symian, nor java (??), nor linux.
It is oly SE OS, used since z1010 on ARM processors.
By the way SE developers may tought on ms windows:) That's why build-in FS is FAT (yes, simple fat...) and so on.
Nothing is impossible. With a java program you can do any thing which your hardware can be effort . The java is not the problem, the problem is the effort of your hardware. If anybody uses NES emulator J2ME , he will think like me.
java runtime environment has many limitations, which wont allow you, for ex. directacess to gsm functions, access to fs or flash, and you need signed java app to stop boring questions.
the only limitation of java runtime environment is java app can't access directly to hardware.
