may be your phone doesn't support the type of your sim. i had a problem too that inserting my airtel 128k, phone says insert sim card. i think you had the same problem, please verify that your sim is compatible with another w580

I've tried with different SIM's and the result is the same. I tried also reflashing it after using Ultimate Unlocker with Main+FS+Custpack and made the quick access patch and the vkp remove SIM Lock but still aint working !! Dont know what else to do... Unlockable phone ?

Just reflash your phone with MAIN,FS and CUSTPACK (don't apply QA patch or remove SIMLOCK ) and turn on phone and when you ask for SIM - first put original SIM and wait to download settings and then change SIM

or dont get all complicated and use the IMEI unlock code you can get from your service provider for free just tell them its cause you may go out of the country (roaming charges) if you alreay had unlocked your phone as u said RE-lock it and then use the unlock code.
