really need help - w580i rogers stretched screen!!!

Hi guys,

Yesterday i code unlocked my w580i rogers and then i tried to debrand it by flashing with a new firmware ... the first time i mis-flashed the main firmware with a file system i think. Then, i tried to reflash again by selecting the correct firmwares and i got this weird colors screen and stretched screen effect! It shows sony ericsson logo at the beginning and another half on top!! I tried different firmwares and it didnt work out. I think i downloaded about 14 firmwares already. Tried the FS and main + customize files but still doesnt help. Of course i chose firmwares in CID52 categories.

I worked on it for like 4 hours. I really need help. Thanks in advance. Have a good day.

You know what, Try reflash the phone with R8BE001 firmware. That includes the File System and the cust pack. Did you back up your GDFS? or did you back up with XS++? I will say a simple reflash the Firmware will solve your problem. Just flash the phone with correct Main Firmware, File system and Cust pack.

sorry, i did not backup because i never had any problem with SE flashing except today... I regret to not have backup though...thanks for the help. Any more suggestion please? I think it is firmware problem only as well. Have a good day.

just reflash the fs should solve it 1st rule off flashing allways make a back up

I read that this error is caused to uncompatible custom files .... Is this the right custom file? If it is, why doesn't work? Please suggest a generic america fs,main and custom files please. Really wanna solve everything. Thanks in advance.

You didn't flash the custpack, or not in the right format. Nothing wrong with the cust file. There are other Hong Kong custpacks you can try. These "GENERIC" ones are the bare bone type with virtually no customization. You can try the "CUSTOMIZED" ones such as W580i_CDA102774_108_R4A_Customized_Hong_Kong

In XS folder exist another colled "own_custpack" - in that folder put folder "tpa" - tpa you will get after unpack CUSTOM zip and in XS in customization section instead phone model pick own_custpack and upload to phone
