i just got a new w580i i've got XS++ and SETool2 lite but neither of them detect my phone i've got the usb flash driver but i cant seem to get it to work (i'm on vista by the way) any help would be good

You have CID53 phone and XS or Setool don't support that CID for now.You can flash only with:

Flashing with jdflasher - Top Sony Forums

or

Flash K800 CID53 with K810 software CID53 (for begginers) - Top Sony Forums

Be carefull.

If you want to unlock, no free software supports cid 53 phones.
Only against payment.

i've tryed jdflasher (my laptop didn't like it kept detecting it as virus) i know my phone is on CID53 i heard that the next XS++ update would be able to flash, patch and unlock CID53 phones

Did you try any other SIM in you phone,because in Setool log you have unlocked phone -
Operator: 000-00 and for jdflasher - disconnect Antivirus and before you try to start prog disconnect also your internet connection and after you finished started both again
