    K810i no Activity menu

    Hi!
I've recently bought a SE k810i from Orange Romania just discovered I can't acess the Activity menu via the designated button. That button starts regular Menu instead. No "New events" setting in General menu either...That is VERY annoying as it disables multitasking.
Any ideeas why this happened and how I can get it back? Didn't mess in any way with firmware, not even upgrade via SEUS. Did enter the service menu once though and it asked me something when I exited, but dind't pay attention.
Phone is R8BA024 and cid 52 as far as I can tell.
    Thanx

    Re: K810i no Activity menu

Some guy on se-nse said Orange branded phones miss the Activity menu and that I should debrand it. I very much hesitate to do that as my phone has 2 years warranty which I don't wanna lose. Isn't there a simpler way to make Activity menu reapear, such as only replacing a file in the file system or maybe modifying a command line inside one?

    Re: K810i no Activity menu

U just couldn't make ur own topic? Or better still use search?

Ontopic. I have 3 buttons now that go to main menu :| Joystick, right softkey and activity button...DUMBDUMBDUMB

Can't the Activity button be reassigned?

LE. I just played with another Orange branded K810i and it is the same. Probably because of the Orange Homescreen option(default), which makes right softkey act as "Events" menu instead of main menu. Need to find a way to reassign the damn activity menu:mad:

You already check the configuration in the menu?, because the Orange SW generally has an option that activate or deactivate the Orange menu, and I think that this could be causing the problem

    Re: K810i no Activity menu

When I deactivate the orange menu(it's actually a "homescreen" option, a sidebar menu with a couple of options) the only thing that happens is that the right softkey is reassigned to Menu instead of Events. The damn activity menu button doesn't get reassigned
That's why I was wondering if I could reassign it myself.
I received a lot of advices about debranding it. If I do that, how do I backup everything orange-specific(settings and software) so that I could put it back in case of warranty problems? And is there a tutorial about debranding K810i? Thanx

    Re: K810i no Activity menu

About backing up orange- that isn't any problem, because in download section have complete firmware and about debranding - well, there is 2 ways -
    1. with this XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering - Top Sony Forums if you have CID52 phone
    2. with this Flashing with jdflasher - Top Sony Forums if you have CID53

So,first use XS++ and 1 tutorial to connect your phone with XS and after that post log from XS here without IMEI number and than will see.

    Re: K810i no Activity menu

For debranding you need this 3 files:

    MAIN: K810_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_SM_RED52
    FS: K810_R8BA024_FS_MEDITERR_RED52 and
    CUSTPACK: HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_4_R8A_GENERIC_MEDITERR

And for download access read this How to get access to Download Area? - Top Sony Forums
