K850i is dead "BROD"

I recently purchased the K850i on ebay from the UK. The phone is from VODAFONE and still has its FW on it.
Initially my phone used to shut down automatically during a conversation or taking pictures or making/during a call etc. etc. illuminating the keypad ONLY. But it always turned back ON when i switched the 'ON' button. But yesterday, it would not turn back on at all. ONLY The lights on the keypad are ON but the screen is completely blank and would only go OFF when i removed the battery. Then i tried charging it while it was OFF, but even then the keypad lights would come ON automatically while the screen remained blank.
I have read quite a few forums on this, but they are all six months old. So I was wondering if this problem has been diagnosed yet or not and what if any solution is available.
Please help me out here. Is this called the "blue ring of death"

sony ericsson update service now fixes this problem
they have only just changed off the last few weeks due to the amout off k850 with brod beening sent back let us know how u go with it

I tried doing the update using SEUS. The phone would try and update and usually charged upto 25%-55% and then an error message always appeared saying that "ERROR: UPDATE FAILED. Please disconnect the phone and try again". SO I cannot update the phone.

I am based in the Canada and the phone is a UK phone. I called up SE support and they said the software for both these countries is completely different. Now i am going to email SE UK and find out what I can do about it.

k850i are cid 52 :D but u carnt flash with se tool lol as they are a2 phones u need to have a fully charged battry to use the seus update thats why it keeps stoping

doesn't need to be fully charged, i flashed my phone with 10% battery life
