    Dead K800i - White Screen

    Hi

Turned my K800i on the other day and all I got was a white screen and nothing else. Someone has suggested to me that I flash the firmware but I have no idea hw to go about doing this. I have checked the download area of this forum but I am in way over my head. Has anyone got a step by step guide on how to flash the firmware or fix this problem?

    Many Thanks

    Matt

Thanks for the reply, found the tutorial, flashed it. I then got past the flight/normal mode screen and got configuration error. Think I fixed that problem and got to welcome screen to select language etc, then white screen again halfway through that and now I can't boot the phone at all (back to white screen).... any thoughts?

OK... I have now managed to flash the main file, the file system and the CDA with the three UK versions (the network I am on). It boots perfectly, and I mean perfectly just after this. I ran through the setup and tried to open the contacts list. White Screen...
The phone will no longer boot to anything other than this white screen until it is flashed again...

I had this and it turned out to be the LCD was on its way out - failed totally a few days after it started occurring. Maybe try flashing the original firmware, but have you used updated dispdriver?

it may be your GDFS, try to reload your GDFS if you have backed up and be sure your battery is full

Hi,i've had the same problem before it turned out to be the firmware i had flashed the phone with was corrupted - i reflashed the phone with a different firmware version and it worked fine.

I am not sure if this will work for you but it may be worth a try.

post a XS log here with the fimwares that you used. then we can see whether you used the right firmware or not.
